Bullbar or Nudge Bar – What’s Best?

If there is any country on earth that genuinely needs bullbars, it’s got to be Australia. We have some of the wildest, most rugged terrain in the world. In addition, Australia is home to some of the most incredible wildlife and animals. Unfortunately, even though the views and the animals are great to look at, they can be hazardous to motorists. For this reason, it’s crucial to have bar work fitted to your 4WD to protect you, your passengers and your vehicle.

So, what are the differences?

Once you’ve decided to shop for aftermarket 4WD products, a bullbar or a nudge bar is probably the one that most changes the look of your vehicle. For example, a Prado bullbar will have a bigger and tougher look to it then a Prado nudge bar. In addition, although both types of bars are installed onto the same area of your vehicle, they’re not as equally effective. Due to the size difference, a bullbar is going to provide you with far more coverage and protection than a nudge bar.

You see a bulbar or something similar is simply a bigger option. Consequently, the entire frontal section (including the headlights) of your vehicle is protected. If you decide to get your vehicle fitted with a nudge bar instead, it will only protect you and your vehicle in the case of a straight-on collision. It’ll be a lot smaller than a bullbar too.

A bullbar is a great add-on for you if you live in and spend a great deal of time around rural WA. It provides the best protection possible, so you have enhanced peace of mind when you’re out and about. It has to be said, however, that all bars are not made the same. Yes, you can get something that may look good enough in a photo online. But, is it really going to provide you with the protection you need? For this reason and more, it’s crucial to buy your bullbar or nudge bar from a trusted source.

What should you choose?

The choice is, of course, yours when it comes to buying a nudge bar or a bullbar. You need to weigh up the pros and cons to then make a final decision. It’s certainly the case that a bullbar provides a greater level of protection for your vehicle as they’re a stronger, very robust product. So, you need to consider your own needs. If you’re a city driver, a nudge bar will do the job. However, if you’re an off-roader, one won’t be enough to protect your vehicle.
